What is the Buckeye Beacon?
To put it plain and simple, conservatives have a lack of news sources for information involving Ohio. Our legacy newspapers like the Dispatch in Columbus or the Springfield News Sun do not provide a reasonable platform for conservative information. We want to change that.
Why pay?
The Buckeye Beacon will always provide news and information free to the public. We are for the people first. However, the time required for running a newsletter and my political consulting firm, while also being a full-time employee and college student requires I make some sacrifices for this mission. We will sometimes lock exclusive stories temporarily behind our subscription wall, and some op-eds permanently, but this is not out of greed. This is out of desire to provide the best content and information to the state of Ohio that we can.
Who even are you?
Glad you asked, my name is JOSH LICKLITER, I am a political consultant, college student, former podcast host and self-proclaimed alpha male. Before I started Excel Political Strategies or The Buckeye Beacon, I started my career as a turf coordination intern for the Ohio Republican Party. Then I volunteered for numerous candidates until 2023, when I served as campaign manager for a county commission campaign.
